Philippe LOOPUYT is head of the Alerts, Traceability and Committee Unit.

This unit is in charge of the electronic health certification services, the management of EU networks dealing with alerts (RASFF and non-compliance) and the fight against food fraud (Food Fraud Network).

The unit is also managing the Commission's decision process (comitology) for Food and Feed safety.

Philippe is graduated in electronic and information systems and has worked in a variety of sectors as hydrocarbon exploration, underwater acoustics, oceanography, aeronautics, transports, agriculture and food safety. Before becoming head of this unit, he has managed and designed for the Commission large scale trans-European networks and systems during the last 20 years.
