Michel Goujon
Director, ORTHONGEL

Dr. Michel Goujon is the Director of ORTHONGEL, the French tuna-boat owners association. As a Fishery scientist specialized in population dynamics (Master's degree and PhD), he regularily attends the scientific commissions of tuna RFMOs and has always been an active promoter of the dialogue between fishermen, scientists and other stakeholders. He is currently chairman of the Tuna RFMO working group of the Long-Distance Regional Advisory Council of the European Commission.
As the Director of ORTHONGEL, Michel Goujon has made a priority to secure the sustainability of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans tropical tuna fisheries and to promote the responsible practices adopted by the European purse seiners.
