Peter Scott
Chartered Quality Professional
Peter Scott is one of the world’s leading conformity assessment experts. He is a Chartered Quality Professional and established his own auditing, consulting and training business in November 2002 to provide interim management, conformity assessment auditing, management training and consultancy services. His clients/projects have included IFC, ILO, DAP Philippines, APEC, USAID, World Bank, WWF, Forest Stewardship Council and he has wide international experience including residential periods in the USA, Canada, Northern Ireland, India, South East Asia and the Philippines where he has now lived since 2000.
Although initially from a power utility background in the nuclear sector in the UK in recent years he has worked with the international leaders of voluntary standard-setting and conformity assessment programs that set standards in food, retail, IT and artisanal sectors (ranging from forestry and agriculture to fisheries and textiles). Some of these programs reward producers for strong social, ethical, environmental and health and safety performance, and are backed by independent third party certification, enabling supply chain companies and end consumers to make more sustainable purchasing decisions. He has been an Accreditation Body Lead Auditor for over 15 years and has acted as a Lead Auditor on over 3000 third party audits.
Peter Scott was one of the founding staff of the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) where he was responsible for producing the first MSC Principles and Criteria for Sustaninable Fishing and the MSC Chain of Custody Standard.
