Carmen Cámara is a full professor of Analytical Chemistry since 1993 at Complutense University of Madrid.

Her main areas of interest are: Development of new methodologies for trace metal speciation (i.e. As, Se, Pb, Hg) and nanoparticles characterization; Proteomics; Bioaccumulation of emerging contaminants in zebrafish embryos/larvae. Development of molecular imprinted polymers as cleaning methods, pre-concentration and their use in chromatographic columns.

Carmen Cámara has participated in many National and European research Projects and leads a research group on “Metals, Speciation and Proteomics at the Chemistry Faculty of Complutense University in Madrid
