A lawyer by training, Laura has dedicated 25 years to transforming supply chains for sustainability.

Starting in fair trade sector, she led the development of pioneering procurement initiatives, embedding ethical, social, and environmental considerations into public and private purchasing. Joining the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) in 2010 to launch the program in Spain and Portugal. After 14 years of impactful work with Iberian fisheries, commercial partners, and other stakeholders, Laura now leads Species Strategies and Pathway within MSC’s Global Program Development Team. Under this role she contributes to drive global strategies for flagship species such as tuna, whitefish, and small pelagics.

Laura has a Degree on Law and Business by CEU San Pablo, Complutense University (Spain) and a Master of Business Law. Is founder member and board member of the association Woman Action Sustainability (WAS).

MSC is an international NGO with the aim to end overfishing through a leader certification and labelling program. The work of MSC seeks to promote the environmental sustainability in the fishing sector and the seafood value chain, develop initiatives with public authorities, NGOs and scientist community as well as raise awareness on oceans conservation within society.
