Audun served for many years as the Secretary of FAO\u2019s COFI Sub-Committee on Trade, the main international body for discussion and recommendations on trade and market issues in the sector.<\/p><p>He has also served as the acting Secretary of COFI, FAO\u2019s Technical Committee for Fisheries and Aquaculture, and was for many years the Coordinator of the GLOBEFISH project.<\/p><p>His thematic work areas include commodity analysis, price trends and price indexes, global value-chain analysis, capacity-building in developing and transition countries, multilateral trade agreements, policy issues related to international trade and market access, market-based instruments, social responsibility, certification, traceability, trade and food security, and domestic and regional market development.<\/p><p>Before joining FAO, he worked as an independent agribusiness consultant, as a project manager at Norway\u2019s Embassy in Italy, and as a financial analyst on the Oslo Stock Exchange.<\/p><p>Audun has a PhD in Agricultural Sciences from the Sea Fisheries Institute in Poland, a Master in Business Administration from Harvard University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the Norwegian School of Economics.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Audun Lem Deputy Director, Fisheries and Aquaculture Division, Deputy Director, Fisheries and Aquaculture Division, Food and Agriculture Organization Audun has been with FAO since 1996, where he is a Deputy Director of the Fisheries and Aquaculture Division with responsibility for the technical area of value chains, market access, and trade.
