Steven Adolf
Moderator for the Tuna By-catch Debate
Steven Adolf (The Hague, 1959) is a Spain-based journalist, writer, economist, broadcaster and mediator of twenty-five years experience. He is editor of Tuna trade on-line publication Atuna.com, and also collaborator for the Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant. His latest book ‘Giant Tuna’ looks at the history of the Atlantic bluefin tuna and its current state of near extinction thought to be brought about by the demands of the sushi industry. He works as Spain, Morocco and Portugal correspondent for the Dutch magazine Elsevier, the Belgium newspaper De Standaard and Belgium public radio and television broadcasting VRT. Steven Adolf also works as analyst of North African developments for Dutch Institute Multicultural Affairs.
Steven Adolf has published in The Netherlands the non-fiction bestseller “Spanje achter de Schermen” (Spain Behind the Stage) and “Marokko achter de Schermen” (Morocco Behind the Stage, 2005). Possessing considerable cross-media, global contacts, he has chaired meetings, panel discussions and public debates on matters ranging from international finance to political diplomacy, and from armed conflict to macro-economics.
Steven Adolf is trained as an economist completing his Masters degree in Economic Science with a specialization in Industrial Economics at the University of Amsterdam.
